AbstractAdolescence is characterized by a qualitative shift in the development of self-awareness: the adolescent begins to form an adult position, he begins to be interested in the world around. During this period, adolescents can easily obtain a variety of interests and hobbies. LS Vygotsky believes the emergence of interest to be ''the key to the problem of adolescent psychological development." Among the adolescent interests substantial share is related to animals. These hobbies involve a variety of emotional and mental spheres. They can be based on both the display of science interest, and the emotional need to communicate with animals, playing the role of a social vent, reduce the stress associated with felling of loneliness. The further development and direction of such adolescent and bis professional orientation is bighly dependent on the attitudes of parents and teachers to the subject of bis interest. This article covers the main arcas of animaHstic interests of teenagers, and possible problems of teenagers' relationsbip with others, that can arise due to these hobbies. A crucial role in addressing the problems associated with animals is given to competent psycbological counseling of parents and teacbers, promoting proper professional guidance of adolescents.
