AbstractThe aim of this study is to probe parents´ and teachers´ perceptions about their children learning motivation. We want to know if they have the same point of view and knowledge about their children in order to be able to measure this construct through the answers of these persons which are the most significant in the child´s life. To do so, we have got a sample of 36 kindergarten teachers and 457 parents of the pupils of those kindergarten teachers. All of them answered a 22 items questionnaire which tried to measure the child learning motivation through its determinants (task value, standards of demands developed by the student, beliefs and expectances, and attributions. Results show significant differences between teachers´ and parents´ answers in most of the 22 items of the questionnaire, which shows different teachers´ and parents´ interpretations about their children learning motivation.
