PERCEPCIÓN DEL ORIENTADOR ESCOLAR POR LA COMUNIDAD EDUCATIVA
María Aurelia Ramírez Castillo, Juana María Torres Calles
AbstractThis project called” the school community’s perception of the school counsellor” addresses how the school counsellor is perceived by students, families and teachers in primary and secondary schools. The concept of perception and educational guidance programs as the common model in educational guidance are analysed briefly. A small survey will be carried out to investigate the perception of the school counsellor and to check the satisfaction level of educational guidance service in several schools. Although the school community thinks educational guidance is necessary to contribute to educational quality and to help students’ development, the work of the school counsellors is also perceived to be inefficient because the impact of their programs aren’t known. All this leads us to reflect on the implementation and adaptation of guidance programs taking into consideration the characteristics of each educational centre so as to create more effective and well known programs which will positively effect educational quality and contribute to the improvement of the students’ development.
