LA LECTURA Y ESCRITURA ACADÉMICAS: UNA APROXIMACIÓN A LO QUE PIENSAN Y HACEN LOS PROFESORES Y LOS ESTUDIANTES DE RECIENTE ACCESO A LA UNIVERSIDAD
Mª Angeles Echevarría Martínez, Isabel Gastón Barrenetxea
AbstractThis paper refers to a piece of research conducted at the University of the Basque Country around the concept of academic literacy, understood as the knowledge and strategies needed to participate in the discursive culture of the disciplines, as well as the activities of the production and analysis of texts required to learn in university. We have tried, first of all, to know the behaviour stated by lecturers in relation to the demands of reading and writing they ask of their students and the perception they have about the way in which their professors act when it comes to addressing their difficulties and guiding them. Through this contrast we try to detect the existence of possible contradictions between what teachers think they should do and what they actually do. Secondly, we have tried to investigate representations that university lecturers and students have about the tasks of understanding and production of texts and the role played by writing in the access to knowledge.
