Pathways to happiness. A theoretical approach.

Abstract
The main objective of Positive Psychology is to observe, describe and analyze positive emotions, considered as objects of behavior or contents of consciousness. In the context of positive psychol-ogy, it becomes relevant to examine the internalization of subjective well-being, happiness, under-stood, as an internal and external process that depends from the individual perception, and helps the individual to clarify and have good sense in every domain of his life: social, economic, work, health and family (Dórion, 2006; Lyubomirsky, King & Diener, 2005; Scoffham, & Barnes, 2011; Shin & Johnson, 1977 & Sptizer, 1999).
On this paper was applied the retrospective study method of qualitative type, by revising the lit-erature about happiness to comprehend, determine, and define which factors may contribute for the development of happiness. It was found that different authors find similar and different kind of vari-ables to determine happiness.
From this point of view, it appears that are a diversity of factors influencing happiness experi-ence suggesting that individuals assume different levels of happiness, according not only their expectations, but also with variables such as age, gender, wealth and health.
