Abstract
If there were times when Public Administration employees lived in environments of relative job stability, now with economic globalization, profound technological innovations, and the latest financial market pressures on sovereign debt, have led to a climate of unpredictability and uncertainty.
In this article our purpose is to contribute to research development on the psychosocial work relationship between Public Administration and its employees.
Initially, we present a brief review of literature based on two theoretical poles: (1) the organic and the employment relationship in Public Administration, and (2) conceptualization of the psychological contract: definition, function and content.
In a qualitative approach, we carried out a survey using a questionnaire for employees of the Central State Administration. The data collected allowed for the elaboration of reference tables of results which, through content analysis, enabled us to identify new content terms of the psychological contract, which had not yet been cited in the existing literature. We also concluded that the subjects of this study identify the organization as the other representative part of that contract.
