This article is a contribution to the literature on job insecurity. The job insecurity stems from a perceived threat to their jobs and is widely regarded as a stressor that can affect the individual’s sub-jective experience. In our study we first wanted to investigate the effects of job insecurity on orga-nizational and of personal wellbeing variables, then we have researched the relationship between these variables and the structure of personal values.
We know that values are a “compass” that directs the individual choices and behavior. In order to detect the variables under study, we administered a questionnaire to 116 workers. The results, in line with the literature, confirm the negative results of insecurity on the organization and personal well-being and show an effect against the values on ‘“directing” the reactions to the uncertainty of labor.
The latter point in particular suggests new ways of thinking and research in an area that still largely unexplored.
