Abstract
Secondary School teachers do not always have the knowledge and skills to attend students with learning disabilities so they need the support of the Orientation Department of the center. These stu-dents have problems to cope with the demands of this new stage and require more support from their teachers. The aim of this study is to analyze the frequency of use and appreciation that teachers from different departments, types of institute, etc. refer about this service. A questionnaire was administra-ted to collect information on knowledge and attitudes about learning disabilities and about the resour-ces available to a total of 74 teachers from 7 public schools, private and concerted of the city of Valencia. Results indicate that teachers with more years of experience who work in private schools are the ones who more often demand OD’s help. Those who do not request support say this is due to tasks’ and time’s saturation they have, but generally there’s a positive perception of OD’s work.
