Implicación parental en la educación del alumnado de diferentes edades y sexos

Patricia Robledo Ramón / Jesús Nicasio García Sánchez. pp. 371-380

Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine whether parental educational involvement varies in relation to the course and sex of their children. Three hundred sixty-six students, enrolled from fourth grade of Primary Education to second grade of Secondary Education, have participated. Students have responded to various subscales of the instrument Family Opinions: children (FAOP-HI, Robledo & Garcia, 2010). The results indicate that, according to the perceptions of students themselves, the level of stimulation of child development and parental educational involvement is higher for girls than boys and in both cases decreases as children get older.
Keywords: family educative involvement, gender, course.
