This study presents the construction and validation of the Social and Emotional Competencies Evaluation Questionnaire – Teacher´s version (QACSE-P), based on the theoretical framework of the CASEL (2005), allowing for an evaluation of said competencies and direct comparisons with other respondents.

The QACSE-P was filled by 79 teachers from the Lisbon area (regarding 1214 students from the 4th to the 9th grade from both urban and rural schools). Results suggest that the instrument has good psychometric characteristics, with a sound factorial structure and good levels of reliability and validity. The final version of the QACSE-P is composed 56 items, organized into five scales that, generally, are the key social and emotional competences highlighted by the CASEL.
