Avanços na compreensão da relação entre temperamento e comportamento anti-social

Resumen
Este artigo constitui uma síntese compreensiva de contributos teóricos e empíricos acerca da relação entre o temperamento e o comportamento anti-social. Embora no final do milénio esta linha de pesquisa tenha sofrido um decréscimo, fruto da influência crescente de abordagens ambientalistas, a investigação contemporânea renovou o interesse pela sua compreensão. Em resultado, associam-se às investigações tradicionais novas pesquisas acerca do contributo do temperamento infantil para a emergência e manutenção comportamento anti-social. Incluem-se, no conjunto de dimensões tidas em consideração neste artigo, a reactividade (negativa), a (baixa) auto-regulação e a (elevada) abordagem. A principal conclusão, suportada pelos resultados dos estudos examinados, é a de que o temperamento constitui uma dimensão de relevo na predição do comportamento durante a infância e adolescência e, embora com uma margem maior de insegurança, na adultez.
