La emocionalización del pensamiento adulto en la vejez: teorías y soporte empírico.

En este artículo se describen las teorías cognitivo-emocionales de la vejez con el objeto de contribuir al conocimiento teórico del fenómeno de la vejez. Estas teorías coinciden en destacar el diverso recorrido que en términos de desarrollo presentan la cognición y la emoción. Mientras que la cognición disminuye su rendimiento en múltiples variables con una tasa lineal respecto del tiempo cronológico, la emoción no sólo está intacta en la vejez, sino que contribuye a mejorar el rendimiento de tareas cognitivas.
